“ART WASHES AWAY FROM THE SOUL
Apr. 20, 2017

the dust of everyday life,” said the great painter Pablo Picasso. All are invited to have that dust thoroughly washed away this Saturday, April 22, at the 2017 Garrett County Student Arts Fair. Garrett County Public Schools and the Garrett County Arts Council, in cooperation with Garrett College and Samantha Funding the Arts, will present this annual celebration at the college's CARC building, with activities to begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 2:30 p.m. There will be performances as well as hands-on projects, plus a large art exhibit. (The schedule of the day can be found on today's arts pages.) In the photographs are elementary school honor chorus and honor band members – hailing from all parts of the county – as they rehearse for Saturday's productions. Music, visual art, theatre, dance, and literary talent will be celebrated Saturday, and all are invited to take part in the day.
